    STI commenced business in January 1995 following the restructuring and recapitalization of the then Grand Union assurances Limited. We operate currently through a network of branches Nationwide with our Head Office on 17, Adetokunbo Ademola Street, VI, Lagos. The company is licensed as an insurer by the Federal Government with authority to underwrite all Classes of Non-Life business.

  • Can I transfer my insurance cover from my sold car to my new car?

    Yes. The insurance cover can be cancelled, and existing cover transferred. However, you may be required to make additional payment depending on the value of your new car.

  • How do I report a claim online?

    You can initiate/report your claim on our website www.stiplc.com by “clicking here” and filling all required information.

    To enable a smooth and prompt processing of your claim, the following documents would be required for THIRD-PARTY:

    • A completed Claim Form

    • A copy of a valid Vehicle License

    • Pictures of the damaged vehicle

    • Estimate of repairs from a garage/ vehicle workshop

    • If a Third Party is involved, letter of acceptance of liability from the Third Party/ Third Party Insurance Certificate/ Police Report

    For a THEFT-CLAIM, kindly provide us with the following:

    • Police Report
    • Driver’s licence
    • Purchase Invoice/Receipt
    • Original & spare of Ignition Key (if vehicle was stolen in a stationary position)
    • Original Certificate of Insurance, Road Worthiness, Vehicle Licence, Proof of Ownership
    • Letter of Transfer of Ownership to Sovereign Trust Insurance plc  (If the vehicle is found later)

    We can help you arrange vehicle repair service and towing if you need it. If you prefer to use your own repair shop, you can do that as well.
